Recap

Pattern: Seraphim Shawl by Miriam L. Felton from MimKnits
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (55% merino 33% microfiber 12% cashmere, 50g, 137 yds.) in red, 6 skeins.
Needles: Addi Lace US 6 (4mm) 32"
Cast On: January 3
Cast Off: February 2
Mods: None except a few unintentional errors in the lace pattern and the exchange for a thicker yarn.

I made this shawl for my mom's birthday, I choose this particular pattern because it has lots of stockinette stitch and she likes warmer shawls. I very pleased to say that she loved it, even if it was a couple of days late.

Ninguno excepto algunos errorcillos en el calado y usar estambre mas grueso.

Hice este shawl para el cumpleaños de mi mamá y escogí este patrón porque mi mama es friolenta y como este tiene mucho derecho y poco calado me pareció ideal. A mi mami le encantó y aunque se lo termine un poco tarde, lo pudo usar unas cuantas veces antes del calor.

Pattern: Retro Redux Shrug by Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark from Lace Style
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted (100% Merino, 100g, 216 yds.) in Azul Profundo, 2 skeins.
Needles: Addi US 9 (5.5mm), Addi US 10 (6mm) US 10 1/2 (6.5mm) all in 32".
Cast On: February 7
Cast Off: February 26
Mods: I made lots of mods because I wanted longer sleeves and smaller back. I CO for the smallest size with US 9 needles, worked rib for 3” and continued on lace pattern till 9 1/2 inch. Switched to US 10 and continued on lace pattern till 12 1/2 in. Switched to US 10 1/2 and continued to 33 1/2.

I love this one and after seeing Steph's beautiful version I couldn't help using the 2 Malagrigo skeins in my stash to make one.

Le hice muchos cambios a este, porque quería mangas mas largas y que estuviera ajustado en la espalda. Monté primero los puntos para el mas modelo mas chico con agujas US 9, hice un resorte por 8cm y después empecé el calado hasta que midió 24 cm. Cambie las agujas a US 10 y continué con el calado hasta que midió 32 cm. Cambié a US 10 ½ y continué con el calado hasta que midió 85cm. Después ya seguí el patrón al pie de la letra.

Me encanto este tejido, y la verdad que después de ver la versión de Steph's no pude evitar usar las 2 bolas de Malabrigo que tenia para hacerme uno.

Pattern: Tree Jacket by Sarah & Rachel from Zephyr Style
Yarn: Cascade Venezia Worsted (70% Merino 30% Silk, 100g, 218 yds.) in Winter White #101, 5 skeins.
Needles: Addi US 10 (6mm) 32".
Cast On: February 19
Cast Off: March 16
Mods: I didn't liked the original spiral lace pattern I used in the neck so I used the alternative straight lace pattern (K2tog, YO, k1, YO, SSK) in the body.

No me gustaba el calado original en espiral que viene con el patrón y que use en el cuello asi que para el cuerpo use el calado alternativo que resulta en lineas derechas (K2tog, YO, k1, YO, SSK).

El estambre esta divino y se siente super suavecito, tambien la seda le da un brillo muy bonito

End of hiatus

In truth I have no excuse for abandoning the blog, sorry I have the intention (and the material) to pos frequently from now.

Pues bueno, la verdad es que no hay ninguna excusa para abandonar el blog por tanto tiempo, y tengo la firme intención de regresar ya que tengo mil cosas por postear.

I’d have like to start posting in chronological order but I just cant help to show you this first. Yummy Wollmeise that I got from a swap with Mari.

Quisiera empezar por orden cronológico pero no puedo evitar mostrarles esto primero, delicioso Wollemeise que obtuve de un intercambio con la maravillosa Mari (genio lingüístico ya que habla español perfectamente también).

The colors are Poison No. 5 and Gewitterhimmel. She also made me the pretty WIP box bag.

Los colores son Posion No. 5 y Gewitterhimmel (azul). La bolsa me la hizo Mari para mis proyectos.

I couldn’t help myself and cast on immediately for socks in the well-known Pomatomus pattern. I think the yarn is a perfect choice for the pattern.

Por supuesto que ni pude resistir usar el estambre inmediatamente y empecé unas calcetas del ya tan conocido Pomatomus. Pienso que queda perfecto con el estambre.
