For the Sockpal

Pattern: Roza's Socks by Grumperina from Interweave Knits Spring 2007
Yarn: Socks that Rock Mediumweight (100% Superwash merino, 155g, 380 yds.) in Tanzanite, 1 skein.
Needles: Susan Bates DPN US 2(2.75mm).
Cast On: June 27
Cast Off: July 6
Mods: None

Comments: Just washing and blocking to do now, I managed to get hold of the Eucalan Wool Wash and I’m dying to try it.

As always love the yarn, the gals of BMFA are geniuses and this was perfectly complemented by the simple yet stunning pattern from Kathy. In fact some of the perfectionist in Kathy must have rubbed off in the pattern because I did the Kitchener of the toes so many times that I actually learned it, I don't even need to look at the pictures anymore.

Solo falta hormar y lavar las calcetas, conseguí el jabón para lanas Eucalan y me muero por probarlo.

Como siempre me encanto el estambre, las chicas de BMFA son unas genios. El hermoso estambre estuvo perfectamente complementado por el simple pero divino patrón de Kathy. De hecho creo que algo de lo perfeccionista de Katy venia en el patrón y se me pegó ya que hice tantas veces el Kitchener de las puntas que me lo aprendí de memoria, increíblemente ya no necesito ver la referencia para hacerlo estoy orgullosa de mi.

Coachella Heat

Pattern: Coachella by Fathom Harvill from Knitty
Yarn: Pakucho (100% Organic Cotton, 50g, 88 yds.) in Cafe, 5 skein.
Needles: Addi Turbo US 7(4.5mm) and US 6 (4.0mm), 32" both.
Cast On: June 27
Cast Off: July 3
Mods: Invert the decreases in the arm holes so they slant the right way and knit a few more rows between the waist shaping decreases/increases to lengthen the body.

Invertí los aumentos y disminuciones en los agujeros para que se inclinaran al lado correcto (es decir SSK, K2tog en vez de K2tog, SSK). También tejí un poco mas de filas entre los aumentos/disminuciones de la cintura para alargar el torso.

Comments: Blame Ravelry for the unexpected FO, when you see so many lovely hand knits togheter you can't really help start one or 2 new things.

So Coachella (love the name), cute summer top but the yarn isn't really working for me, is to thick and with very little drape. It fits nicely, I think this is the better fittitng garment that I have knitted, I tend to make them always just a little too big, which is really annoying because there is no real reason to rip and knit again.

I have to say that I didn’t expect much of the organic cotton as cotton usually hurts my hands a lot when I knit but this one is really soft and comfy, it was a good surprise.

Culpen a Raverly por el FO inesperado, cuando vez tantas cosas hermosas en un solo lugar no puedes evitar ser débil y empezar 1 o 2 cositas.

Del estambre no esperaba mucho porque no me gusta generalmente tejer con algodón ya que me duelen las manos pero el algodón orgánico me sorprendió esta realmente suavecito y pachoncito, fue una agradable sorpresa.

I love the pattern, the construction is cleaver, yields wonderful results and is a very easy and quick knit. Love the rolled neck and bottom edges details.

El patrón es verdaderamente ingeniosos, te deja una blusa preciosa con muy poco esfuerzo y se teje bastante rápido. Me encanta el detalle del cuello y la parte de abajo que se enrosca.

So because all of the above I decided to frog the whole thing and savage the lovely yarn to make a pretty cardigan or something and start another Coachella in a more suitable yarn with more drape and lighter, in fact I already started it with lovely SWTC Phoenix a yarn that is much like the one the pattern calls for but prettier.

Entonces por todo lo antes mencionado decidí deshacer la blusa. Quiero el algodón para hacer algo que le haga justicia, un cardigan o algo así. Pero como me encanto el patrón y el resultado quiero hacerlo con un estambre que le quede mejor, que sea mas ligero y con mas caída, bueno de hecho ya lo empecé con SWTC Phoenix que es un estambre más parecido alque pide el patrón.
