Crochet!

Look, I did a granny square! I’m finally getting the hang of crochet and just as good because I practicing for a big project that I have all planned out, details later.

Miren en realidad lo logre hice un granny square! Cero que por fin le estoy entendiendo a eso del gancho y que bueno que estoy avanzando porque estoy practicando para un proyecto futuro que tengo ya todo planeado pero detalles después.

Claro que hubo dificultades técnicas y el portavasos quedo de 15 cm de ancho y un poco chueco pero me gusto mucho el cuadro y es buen ancho para hacer una bufanda de cuadritos. El patrón lo saque del libro 200 Crochet Blocks, que lo recomiendo muchísimo aunque las combinaciones de colores que trae no son mucho de mi agrado los patrones de cuadritos estan hermosos.

There were some technical difficulties as my coaster turned up to be 6” but I love the square and I’m thinking of crocheting more and making a scarf. The pattern is from 200 Crochet Blocks, a great book with lovely square patterns even if I don’t like the colors very much.

I’m almost done with the Sockapalooza socks and almost a month before the deadline, I’m such a good girl. I knit this very carefully and taking care of every detail, I even learned to do kitchener properly.

Ya casi termino las calcetas del Sockapalooza y con un mes de anticipación! No puedo creer que tan aplicada soy. La verdad es que fui mucho mas detallista con estas calcetas de lo que generalmente soy cuando hago para mi, hasta aprendi a hacer correctamente le kitchener, gracias a unos excelentes links que me pasaron.

I don’t know if you notice but Raz finished the last details new layout of the blog and now is finally fully functional, even the archives and comments. I just need to put the links of the blogs I read, galleries, etc and done. Thanks sweetie!

No se si lo notaron pero Raz ya me acomodo todos los detalles que quedaban de mi nuevo blog, incluyendo archivos y comentarios. Solo me falta poner mi gigantesca lista de blogs y listo. Muchas gracias amor!

I have not knit because I'm looking at knitting

I don’t have much to show and blame it on Ravelry. If you are not in the waiting list of this wonderful knitting an Crochet community go now, be warned that it will suck your knitting time and you’ll be watching and writing of knitting instead of knitting.

No tengo mucho que mostrar ya que me la he pasado jugando con Ravelry si no se han agregado a la lista de espera de esta comunidad maravillosa que desgraciadamente sigue en beta vayan ahora que hacen falta bloggers Hispanas. Es ridículo que he dejado de tejer por estar viendo cosas de tejer en la red.

But I managed to knit a bit of the Roza's Socks for my Sockapalooza Pal and I cannot stop looking a the slight variations of color in the yarn, I really think is a perfect pattern for this yarn.

Le avance un poco a las Roza's Socks y están quedando divinas, las variaciones del estambre matizado me encantan.

I also knitted a bit of the Flower Basket Shawl. Knitting with silk is heaven and even more if you are doing it with my new Addi Turbo Lace. Everything good you've heard about this needles is true.

Y también les muestro el pequeño avance que tengo del Flower Basket Shawl. Tejer con seda es una maravilla y mas con mis nuevas Addi Turbo Lace ni hablar.

Last weekend Raz went away with some friends so plenty of free time to take pictures of my stash and upload them to Ravelry but they are also on my flickr if you’re curious.

Este fin de semana no estuvo Raz y me dedique a tomarle fotos a mi stash para subir a Ravelry pero también están en mi página de flickr por si tienen curiosidad.

I finally decided

I finally decided what the pattern and yarn for my Sockapalooza Pal: Roza's Socks and Socks that Rock Mediumweight in Tanzanite. The pattern is beautiful and I been itching to knit it and the yarn is soft and gorgeous, I think is a good choice and I really hope my sockpal likes them.

I'm so exited because I finally got an invitation to Ravelry! I can't wait to play with it, my screen name is Navi and let me know if any one has an account too so I can add you.

I got taged for 2 memes a long time ago and I finally got around to answer them but I'm to lazy to translate them, sorry.

Finalmente decidi el patrón y estambre para mi Sockapalooza pal: Roza's Socks en Socks that Rock Mediumweight color Tanzanite. El patron es sencillo y el estambre hermoso, espero que le gusten a mi sockpal.

Por fin me dieron mi invitación a Ravelry! el servicio esta genial pero esta en periodo de prueba, si alguen mas lo tiene avisenme para agregarlos a mi lista mi nickname es Navi. Apenas llene mi profile pero estoy ansiosa de jugar con el.

8 cosas aleatorias acerca de mi

1 - Tengo un poder sobrehumano para ignorar los ruidos de fondo (musica, maquinaria, construcciones, etc)

Cable Rib Socks

Pattern: Cable Rib Socks by Erica Alexander from Favorite Socks
Yarn: Socks that Rock light weight (100% superwash merino, 130g, 360 yds.) in Romancing the Stone, 1 skein.
Needles: Susan Bates DPN US 1(2.25mm)
Cast On: April 25
Cast Off: May 29
Mods: None

Comments: These socks turned up really cute. The simple pattern goes well with the colorful yarn and the cables make the knitting interesting. I should have lined up the cables so the continuity wasn’t broken by the heel but was too lazy to rip (I can’t imagine what the designer was thinking). I liked this pattern enough to make it again and I’ll correct this in future socks. My kitchener is getting better too, I’m starting to think that there is indeed some logic to it.

Pues quedaron bastante monas las calcetas, sencillas ya que el estambre matizado (ven como si aprendo) esta muy colorido para un patrón mas complicado, sin embargo no fueron aburridas de tejer por las trenzas. Algo que le hubiera cambiado seria hacer los cables 4 puntos mas juntos para que no se quebraran la continuidad de las trenzas en el talón. El patrón me encanto así que seguramente lo volveré a hacer y corregiré el error. Mi kitchener también esta mejorando poco a poco, y estoy empezando a creer que en realidad tiene algo de lógica.

My hands are itching for new socks, but I’m dutifully expecting the yarn for my Sockapalooza Pal and because I want to give them my full attention I’m not making any other socks till they’re done. I’m really turning into a sock knitter, I feel the necessity to have a sock on the needles always.

Me muero por empezar otras calcetas pero tengo que esperar el estambre de mi Sock Pal de el Sockapalooza 4 para empezar de una vez ya que no quiero andar terminando a la carrera. Creo que me estoy convirtiendo en alguien que tienen que tener unas cacetas en las agujas siempre.

My Sahara is almost done too, just the lace of the neckline to do. I think is a little big but not too much and I already had to knit the sleeves 2 times but with this heavenly yarn I really don’t mind at all.

Mi Sahara también esta casi terminado solo falta hacer el cuello. Creo que quedo un poco grande (como siempre) pero esta aceptable y tuve que hacer las mangas 2 veces pero con estambre no me quejo de volver a tejerlas.
