Even though I tried I couldn’t avoid Christmas knitting. Ed asked me for fingerless gloves and hats for him and his new wife (how could I refuse?), sadly I didn’t take any pictures of them. I made the Fetching gloves for her with a matching cabled hat and Knucks and a hat with a simple 4x2 rib for him. A friend asked for fingerless gloves last winter and bought me the yarn for them, and another friend asked me for a hat 2 years ago. I haven’t gotten around to even start those projects yet but they are long overdue.
I started socks for Raz with the STR in lagoon and I'm about to begin the second one. And finally the Urban Aran for Raz in which I’m concentrating all my efforts right now. The yarn is a School Product’s coned superwash merino. I have never worked with coned yarn before and I can definitely feel my hands a little dirty when I’m done knitting. The yarn is lovely though.

I’m at mid-back right now, but this sweater is going fast, I love knitting with chunky yarn.

Also I had my birthday on December 20 and Raz got me this inside an envelope.

Get it? SOCKS that ROCK GIFT CARD!! He couldn’t give me the giftcard itself because it is still in the mail (gotta love the Mexican Postal Service) but still is the sweetest gift thanks Love!

Les deseo un mundo de felicidad.
I swore to myself that I world never ever torture my hands and knit with wire, but, Would you look at this? They are pretty, pretty, pretty!!! Go and see the new Knitty now!

Got to run to a concert!

Pattern: Best Friends Forever Socks by Cookie A.
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepard Sock (80% superwash wool, 20% Nylon, 215 yds.) in Lilac, 2 skeins.
Needles: Susan Bates US 1
Cast On: October 24
Cast Off: November 5
Mods: Made the smallest size and did 12 cable pattern repeats for the leg instead of nine (those Lorna's laces have very good yardage).
Comments:I came to the realization that I like my socks small because wool tends to get stretch lot and I hate baggy socks. I loved the pattern and though the cables will look beautiful in a solid colors. The Lorna’s laces yarn is great to work with but is on the thin side of sock yarns so is best use thinner needles. The toe point requires grafting and I can’t graft for the live of me so the toes are a bit wonky but is practice.
So I have lots of thing that I been working on, hats mostly and I will put a picture of all of the together. I swatched for the Urban Aran and started the front but I don’t have much to tell because Raz is demanding socks and I have another hat to finish. Silly me for thinking there will be no x-mas knitting.
