I love you Raz

Look what my wonderful boyfriend got me (just because he loves me), a brand new Nintendo DS Lite. I must tell you that i didn't like the idea of playing with a stylus, but it's not awkward at all, quite the reverse is extremely funny and easy to play. The best of all is that you can several games with another player even if one has the game and the other doesn't, we have been enjoying Mario Kart races and mini games a lot lately. Thanks a lot baby!!

In knitting news I'm almost done with the Shetland Shawl, 14 more rows and blocking left. And the baby kimono is done, I 'll upload the photos some time this weekend.

Summer startitis attack

I blame the hot weather. It makes you restless, on winter you can work for hours with warm, soft wool hoping you can finish your project soon so it can keep you warm. The summer heat doesn't let you focus, and you can't be expected to work for hours (with sweaty hands) on a sweater that you can't even wear for another 4 months at least. I haven't touched the Bomber Jacket since my last post, and let's not mention Raz's Socks and the Electra Vest. I did, however, manage to finish one sock with the STR yarn, and the baby kimono just needs seaming now. My cousin is expecting a baby on september and I've never made any baby stuff. It's really is a high, I finished this sweater in no time.

Baby Kimono

I started the Shetland Triangle with the cream cashmere that was destined to become the Trellis scarf because I got scared of the K7tog that everybody is talking about. It's going really well and quicker than I tought. I love the fabric the chashmere is making, so soft and fluffy, I just want to snuggle against it all day.

Shetland Triangle

To make matters worst I received Patons patterns: Street Smart and Chunky Knits, I ordered as soon as I saw the fabulous sweater Jared made, luckily I don't have the yarn or I might have casted on immediately. I want to make one for Raz, who loved it on sight.

Soy puro cuento

Or as you would say in english I'm all talk, I promised that I wouldn't cast on for nothing new until I finished the electra vest, which is only missing a little of the front and the ribbing of the neck and sleeves. Come to think of it I've never posted a pic, so here is the back in all it's splendor and with the glaring mistakes on the color pattern. It's my first fair isle so be gentle.

So while I been ignoring the electra vest, I started a lot of things, first the Bomber Jacket. This is the nearly finished back (it's finished now) and is looooong, I hope the washing shrinks it quite a bit or I'll need to find someone 2.5 mts tall to give to. The denim is more lenient on my hands that I would have thought but my tension sucks, as the cotton insists on remind me and the fabric is a bit wonky. So I will say the famous frase associated with impending knitting disasters, I hope it will block out.

Yesterday I received the Tahky Donegal Tweed that I ordered from the anual sale of Webs. 7 lovely skeins destined to become the Sunrise from this spring Interweave Knits. The color is too good, it is firm (a necessity for the jacket) but without being too rough and at 50 USD with international shipping who can complain?

I also started plain St st toe up socks with the STR in the carbon colorway for knitting on the movies (no pic). So far OMG I'm delirious about the yarn, it is perfect more than perfect, for once everything good you have read on the net about it is true. The wash rag(which Im thinking of using as a face towel) of Bernart cotton just needs weaving in ends (no pics either, Im too lazy).

As a final note I wanted to thank all my friends who come and visit even if they don't have the slightest idea of what I'm taking about, thanks guys you rock!. And also thank the people that I don't personally know, but shares my obsession and leaves kind comments and words of encouragement. Thanks for the support, it is unexpected but most heartily welcome.
