Trip

I'm going on vacation to Japan! *dances* I can't tell you just how exited I am!, and best of all Raz (a.k.a the boyfriend) is coming with me!! yay! and we shall be gone for about a week and a half, and of course I've already looked up yarn stores to visit and bring back lots of lovely japanese yarn mmmmm... Noro. I also want to find something exotic like soy silk or paper yarn from Habu Textiles. Many many thanx to the noble Pinku for the great references to Tokyo Yarn Shops.

I will also spend a night at Los Angles, CA and will visit the Knit Cafe. Hopefully I'll have lots of yarn porn when I come back. Btw this is a great site for yarn shop references in the US.

No knitting

I been knitting so much lately trying to finish a sweater and x-mas gifts for my 3 sisters and my mom that I messed up my hands, my tendons and wrists hurt like hell and something in the palm of my hand is swollen, so no knitting for a few days. This is such a terrible timing because I have a 3-hour road trip on monday and what the hell I'm going to do on the trip? I can't read for fear that Raz might fall asleep, and anyway I can't just ingore him and read. Knitting on a road trip is so great because I keep myself occupied and talk to Raz, I migth try to convince him to let me drive. Le sigh.

Branching out

I started branching out from knitty for my mom. It is my first attempt at knitting lace and after the first 2 froggings I learnd that lifelines are vital.

The yarn is Filatura di Corsa Gioiello in a lovley shadow of green with gold and black bits, as I said it is beautiful yarn but it's a pain to work with it, thank god for my Addis.

I love my friends

Ahhhh what is better than friends that buy you yarn, well it whas my money but anyway.... Yes, public thank to Ed and Joaquin, they live in other cities and will come home to visit in two weeks bringing with them lovely wool for me. Joaquin made me the favor of reciving a package from knitpicks (I hope they'll be delivering international orders soon) and Edwent into a yarn shop in Cambridge to buy me yarn and needles that I cant get locally. I love you guys and hope to see you soon... and not just for the yarn you bring.
