One month to go (almost)

The last details of the wedding are kicking my butt (just a month to go!) and with all the bachelorette parties*, and wedding errands I've had no head to post, but I have been knitting, here's the proof.

*Cultural note: here in Mexico we girls have several gatherings attended just by women prior to the wedding, usually two, one organized by the mother of the bride and one by the mother of the groom. I'm lucky enough to have 3 very loving sisters that are organizing a sort of rehearsal dinner, but is a little unusual because we don't do rehearsal dinners here.

Lady February Sweater

Lady February Sweater.JPG

Lady February Sweater

Pattern: Lady February Sweater from Flint Knits
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cathay (50% cotton, 35% rayon & 15% silk 50g, 109 yds.) in Daisy Yellow, 9 skeins.
Needles: Addi US 5 (3.75mm).
Cast On: July 11
Cast Off: August 18
Mods: I wanted a more fitted sweater so I knitted the XS version on a smaller gauge than the original, smaller needles and thiner yarn. I didn’t make the YO increases but continued increasing in the raglan pattern till I had the right number of stitches for the XS size and it was also the right length to stop the garter and start the lace pattern.

Anne Scarf

Anne Scarf

Pattern: Anne Scarf by MK Carroll
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Hand Dyes (50% superfine alpaca, 50% merino wool 100g, 100 yds.) in Dungaree Blue 2001, 2 skeins.
Needles: Hook G (4mm).
Cast On: July 29
Cast Off: August 7
Mods: None, I’m a very beginner crocheter and this scarf is perfect for me: addictive, easy, quick and looks great.
I had chosen a single ply yarn to make it but I changed it to a plied one, is easier to work with and you can see what you’re doing (specially important to a beginner)

Ninguno.

But not just the wedding is approaching, Valeria is coming soon to this world and I have to make sure she has knitted goodies to receive her.

I have seen lots of Lady february sweaters and wasn´t sure I want one for myself, even knitting one for mum or niece. But seeing yours I know I WANT one. I love your choise of colour and yarns, not only for this project. Even when hundreds people knit the same one, yours always look uniquely :)

I've seen so many February Lady Swetaers on Ravelry, and never felt the urge to add it to my queue. I didn't like how loose it hung on the wearers. But yours......now that's a whole 'nother story! I love it. =) I WILL be knitting this sweater (with your mods, of course). And I have to say, I probably never would have chosen that color yarn from the LYS shelf, but it looks fantastic all made up as a sweater. You make me want to be more adventuress with color.

Oh my gosh--your February Lady Swtr is to Die For! Its simply amazing what a few modifications can do to a garment! Absolutely gorgeous - the best I have seen to date! I love the color and those buttons are amazing... Where can I score some of those buttons? I doubt I will be able to find them here in the U.S. Let me know if you can do me the favor or purchasing some for me:) or if they have a website where I can buy some...

Your scarf is lovely too!

I can hardly believe you have any brain left for knitting at all, and you not only knit a whole sweater, but took on a crochet project too! I'm quite impressed.
