On the needles

Thank you all for the nice comments in the last post, I really don’t knit all that fast just had a lot of un-blogged projects and lately I’ve been in the mood of finishing old WIPs so things have been really flying off the needles.

Gracias a todas por sus comentarios en el post pasado, la verdad es que no tejo tan rápido solo son proyectos que me había retrasado en postear y otros que tenía a medias y los termine. Últimamente he estado de humor de completar muchas cosas que tenia a la mitad por eso tengo tantos proyectos terminados.

I’m about to start the Sweetheart Socks from Interweave with a lovely hand painted yarn. I really liked the handwritten note from the dyer that came with the yarn, a really nice gesture.

Ahorita estoy por empezar las Sweetheart Socks de Interweave en un hermoso estambre pintado a mano, me encanto el detalle de que cuando me llego el estambre tenía una nota escrita a mano de la vendedora.

Also after lots of research I started the Cabled Bolero, better known as Capecho, from Vogue Knitting. I followed the advice on Ravelry because apparently the pattern runs really big so I’m knitting in DK yarn with US 6 needles. I’m in love with the color and look of a decent size so far.

También empecé el Cabled Bolero de Vogue Knitting, conocido como Capecho, antes de empezar este tuve que hacer mucha investigación ya que parecía que salía enorme asi que estoy tejiendo con estambre DK y agujas US 6. Me encanto el color del estambre y hasta ahora se ve de tamaño decente.

I’m starting to get a little freaked out by all this swine flu madness, the prevention measures are really harsh here in Mexico: closing schools, cancelling political rallies in an election year, closed-doors soccer matches and even more scary, thinking about cancelling the whole soccer season. I don’t remember this ever happening before and there aren’t that many infected people, why all this panic? it’s all very weird.

La verdad es que ya me están freakeando con lo de la influenza, las medidas que están tomando de cierre de escuelas, cancelar mítines políticos con las elecciones tan cerca, partidos de futbol a puerta cerrada y hasta están pensando en cancelar el torneo de futbol, wow es de asustarse. Esta muy raro todo porque ni siquiera hay tanta gente contagiada como para que estén haciendo tanto escándalo.

I'm a really lazy blogger

Wow, it has really been two months already? I have no excuse but laziness. Well as we all knew I didn’t finish my x-mas knitting list but I knitted some and I am officially bored of knitting gifts because, as Raz often tells me, I’m in essence a very selfish knitter.

Anyway I have quite a lot of FO’s to show you so I’ll just give you a quick overview, more details on my Ravelry.

Wow ha pasado en realidad mucho tiempo, y la verdad es que la única excusa ha sido flojera porque he estado tejiendo mucho. Pa empezar como todos suponíamos no termine mi lista de regalos navideños y estoy oficialmente harta de tejer regalos porque, como Raz me recuerda a cada rato, soy una tejedora muy egoísta.

Pero bueno, como tengo muchas cosas proyectos por mostrarles solo les daré un pequeño resumen, si quieren mas detalles chequen mi Ravelry.

Christmas Knitting list

Yep is that time of the year again but fist a WIP.

Sip, ya llego esta epoca del año de nuevo, pero primero un WIP.

I fell in love with this project as soon as I saw on Ravelry, but unfortunately it was a personal pattern and was unavailable at the time, imagine my excitement when I noticed that tinyowlsknits (ravelry link) was preparing the Forest and Frill (ravelry link) pattern. I cast on as soon as the pattern was available and now is almost ready.

Me enamore de este proyecto desde que lo vi en Ravelry, por desgracia era un patrón personal que no estaba disponible así que ya pueden imaginar mi emoción cuando vi que tinyowlsknits (ravelry link) estaba preparando el patrón de Forest and Frill (ravelry link)! En cuanto lo tuve en mis manos lo empecé y ahora ya esta casi listo.

I am a little intimidated by crochet but I’m getting the hang on it, just the scary part left.

Como saben me intimida un poco tejer con gancho pero poco a poco le estoy entendiendo, ahora solo falta hacer esa parte intimidante.

Ohhh and a whole sweater for Rola hehe but I guess I‘ll have to mail it to him in the spring when I’m done.

Ahhh y además todo un sweater para Rola, pero la verdad creo que va tener que esperarse ya se lo mandare en la primavera jeje.

We're back!

And almost completely moved, at least the house is habitable and my yarn is out of the boxes (btw Raz freaked out a little when he realized the full size of my stash).

Y ya casi mudados por completo, al menos la casa ya esta habitable y mi estambre ya no esta en cajas (por cierto Raz se asusto un poco cuando descubrio el verdadero tamaño de mi stash).

I have some WIPs, little projects and of course some souvenir yarn that I’ll upload latter on the week. The honeymoon was fantastic! I leave you now with this picture taken from a hot air balloon in Christchurch.

Tengo varios WIPs, uno que otro proyectillo teminado y el mandatorio estambre-souvenir que subire en los proximos dias. La luna de miel estuvo genial, los dejo con esta hermosa foto tomada desde un globo aerostatico en Christchurch.
