End of hiatus

In truth I have no excuse for abandoning the blog, sorry I have the intention (and the material) to pos frequently from now.

Pues bueno, la verdad es que no hay ninguna excusa para abandonar el blog por tanto tiempo, y tengo la firme intención de regresar ya que tengo mil cosas por postear.

I’d have like to start posting in chronological order but I just cant help to show you this first. Yummy Wollmeise that I got from a swap with Mari.

Quisiera empezar por orden cronológico pero no puedo evitar mostrarles esto primero, delicioso Wollemeise que obtuve de un intercambio con la maravillosa Mari (genio lingüístico ya que habla español perfectamente también).

The colors are Poison No. 5 and Gewitterhimmel. She also made me the pretty WIP box bag.

Los colores son Posion No. 5 y Gewitterhimmel (azul). La bolsa me la hizo Mari para mis proyectos.

I couldn’t help myself and cast on immediately for socks in the well-known Pomatomus pattern. I think the yarn is a perfect choice for the pattern.

Por supuesto que ni pude resistir usar el estambre inmediatamente y empecé unas calcetas del ya tan conocido Pomatomus. Pienso que queda perfecto con el estambre.

Engagement Sweater and other stuff

First of all, thank you all for your good wishes and congratulations, we are so exited! (Raz says thanks too). We want an autumn wedding so there’s a lot to do and that’s why I haven been posting regularly. Some of you asked what I wanted to knit for the wedding and the ideal would be a shawl but if there is no time at least a lace garter.

Primero que nada muchas gracias a todos por sus buenos deseos y felicitaciones, estamos muy felices!. Raz y yo queremos la boda en otoño, así que hay muchas cosas que hacer, con respecto a que voy a tejer para la boda quisiera un chal pero si de plano no tengo tiempo de perdido me tejeré un liga de lace.

The days have been flying over here with all the wedding preparations and family and friend’s birthdays but I have been busy, every year I knit a sweater for Raz and since I didn’t finish it for our anniversary it’ll be now an engagement sweater. The pattern is the Seamless Hybrid (ravelry link) by Elizabeth Zimmerman and made famous by Jared. I’m now at the point where the body and the sleeves are joined, but the sleeves are in process still, sorry for the lateness baby!

Estos días se han ido volando con eso de preparativos y cumpleaños de familia y amigos pero me he mantenido ocupada, primero cada año le tejo un sweater a Raz pero como no lo termine para el aniversario será ahora el sweater de compromiso. El patrón es el Seamless Hybrid (ravelry link) de Elizabeth Zimmerman y hecho famoso por Jared. Ya lo llevo más adelantado, el cuerpo esta en el punto donde le unes las mangas las cuales están en proceso.

I’m in love with the contrast color hem detail. The yarn is Yorkshire Tweed Aran in Wild Plum.

Me encanta el detalle del dobladillo en color contrastante. El estambre es Yorkshire Tweed Aran en color Wild Plum.

My mom’s birthday is coming at the end of the month and she has been hinted that she wants a red shawl, so that’s what she’ll get. I decided on the Seraphim Shawl pattern because I wanted a really warm shawl and even though it has very little lace is lovely pattern. I’m also knitting the sweater in sport weight yarn, as my mom is always cold. The shawl is a lot more advanced so I’m confident I’ll finish it in time.

Mi mamá cumple años a finales de mes y ya lleva tiempo diciéndome que le teja un chal rojo, así que decidí hacerle el Seraphim Shawl que aunque lleva muy poco de calados esta muy bonito y lo hace mas calientito. Además decidí tejerlo en estambre mas grueso ya que mi mami es muy friolenta. El chal ya va mucho mas adelantado así que estoy confiada en terminarlo para la fecha.

I have been meaning to post this since my birthday in December, Mache (ravelry link) knitted it for me, isn’t it the cutest birthday present? Thanks a lot Mache, I love it!

También he querido postear esto desde mi cumpleaños en diciembre, Mache (ravelry link) me lo tejió, apoco no es el regalo mas mono? Muchas gracias Mache, me encanta!

I have a lot of projects to post and I had a little episode involving hats, but I’ll tell you about that later.

Tengo muchos proyectos atrasados y me obsesioné un tiempo tejiendo gorros, pero les cuento mas adelante.

I have a good reason...

for not posting in a month.

Raz learned secretly how to knit and gave me this in our anniversary. The ring was tied to the dot of the question mark.

Raz aprendió a tejer en secreto y me dió esto en nuestro aniversario. El anillo estaba atado en el punto del signo de interrogación.

Of course I said yes. I love you Raz.

Por supuesto que dije que si. Te amo Raz.

A quick hat

Thanks to all for the comments on the Sunrise Jacket, I’m very behind on my email but I expect to catch on this week.

Gracias a todas por sus comentarios del Sunrise Jacket, estoy algo atrasada en mi correo pero encantada con el sweater y finalmente hace frío como para estrenarlo.

Pattern: An Unoriginal Hat by Yarn Harlot
Yarn: Berroco Hip-Hop (100% Wool, 100g, 76 yds.) in Zion, 1 skein.
Needles: Clover Bamboo DPN US 10.5 (6.5mm).
Cast On: November 25
Cast Off: November 26
Mods: Not exactly a mod but I ran out of yarn 5 rows before finishing the hat so I just ran the yarn thru the live stitches for a gathered top.

No es exactamente una modificación pero se me acabó el estambre 5 líneas antes de terminar el gorro, pues ni modo lo que hice fue pasar lo que me quedo de estambre por los puntos para cerrar el gorro y me quedo la corona algo fruncida.

Comments: An incredibly fast and cute hat, perfect for last minute x-mas gifts (but I’m keeping this one for myself). As a rule I dislike cables with variegated yarn but something about this hat is irresistible, and I already had the perfect yarn in the stash. The only bad thing about this project is that’s really addictive, I already cast on for another one.

Thanks to Raz for taking the pictures, it’s a pain to take photos of your own head.

Un gorro ridículamente rápido y bonito, genial para regalos de ultima hora (claro que me lo voy a quedar yo). Generalmente no me gustan los cables con estambre matizado pero la verdad es que desde que lo vi me encanto y lo mejor es que tenia el estambre perfecto en mi stash. Lo único que encuentro malo de este gorro es que es increíblemente adictivo, ya estoy haciendo otro.

Gracias a Raz por las fotos, es muy difícil tomarte fotos de tu cabeza.
